The Western Hockey League (WHL) has had to make changes to their October schedule for their B.C. and U.S. Divisions due to the ongoing issues at the Canada U.S. border.
Teams in the U.S. will only play other U.S. based teams, while teams in B.C. will only play B.C. Division teams for the first month of the season in hopes that the border situation resolves before the month of November.
Non-essential travel on land borders between Canada and the United States is still not allowed. The WHL previously announced teams in each conference would only play each other during the 2021-22 season to limit travel.
The WHL season starts Oct 1.
