Later this year, Connor Bedard will likely get the chance to play in front of sold out crowds in the National Hockey League on a consistent basis. He will get a taste of that experience tonight, as the Pats are set to play in front of an expected sold out Saddledome in Calgary when they meet the Hitmen.
Over 19,000 fans are expected for this evening’s game. The biggest crowd for an indoor game in the Western Hockey League’s history took place in Calgary back in 2008 when the Hitmen faced the Kootenay Ice with 19,305 spectators on hand for a game.
In 2011, Calgary hosted Regina in an outdoor game that drew over 20,800 people
Earlier this season, there were over 3,200 people to watch Bedard and the Pats meet the Hitmen.
Bedard has already provided highlight material in Calgary with one of his best goals taking place in the Saddledome last season.

The Pats captain leads the Western Hockey League in scoring, top league’s rankings in goals (42) and points (85). He is also tied with teammate Stanislav Svozil with the most assists in the league with 43. Bedard is also on a 34-game point streak.
It was a record breaking crowd at Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer on Tuesday. 7,287 people were in attendance to watch the Rebels defeat the Pats 6-5 in overtime. Tanner Howe had a big night with four helpers for Regina in the loss.

Tonight’s game marks the halfway point of Regina’s four game trip through Alberta. The Regiment will have stops in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat before they return home to Saskatchewan.
