Despite a strange year, the Christmas season is upon us once again. While Covid-19 has managed to stop a lot of great events and gatherings in 2020, it has not stifled the creativity of our Saskatchewan artists. One such musician who is pushing ahead in these times is a Saskatchewan and Telemiracle favourite, Jeffery Straker. The Delisle native has released three Christmas songs this year, including two new originals titled “Come Walking in the Snow With me,” and “I’ll be Missing You This Christmas.”
“It was fun to finally get some new Christmas music out this year,” smiled Straker. “I’ve been doing these holiday shows for the past four years and everyone would come to the merch table and say ‘where are the Christmas songs’?
After hearing that question repeatedly Straker decided it was time to write and record some new Christmas music. In past years he always hosted a Christmas show at Casino Regina and around the province, but thanks to Covid-19 had to shelve the production for this festive season.
In our interview we talked about what a typical Christmas is like in the Straker home, his favourite treats, the new music, and much more.
