RCMP respond to more than 340 COVID-19 related calls in November

RCMP in Saskatchewan have been busy tending to COVID-19 related calls in November.

A total of 342 calls for service were made to detachments in Saskatchewan:

· 128 complaints of individuals not self-isolating;

· 92 large gathering complaints;

· 20 masking complaints;

· 14 traveller check complaints; and

· 88 other COVID-related complaints.

As a result, four charges were issued to people for not self-isolating despite being advised to. Two of the accused came from the north central, while one person came from the far north west and the other from the far north central.

Three people, from the far north east, far north central and far north west zones, were individually charged for holding large gatherings violating the public health order.

Each charge is a Summary Offence Ticket, and not a criminal offence. The names of the accused are not being released.
