Someone who has become a face of the pandemic in Saskatchewan is stepping down from his job,

The Saskatchewan Health Authority says CEO Scott Livingstone is stepping down from his position effective immediately and will be replaced on an interim basis by Andrew Will.

He has served in a number of executive leadership positions in both Saskatchewan and Alberta including the acting CEO of the Saskatoon Health Region.  He had been the vice-president of infrastructure, information and support.

In a release from the SHA, Board of Directors Chair Arlene Wiks says the board is grateful for Livingstone’s leadership during the creation of the SHA and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and that he demonstrated a commitment as CEO to patient and family centred care along with providing stability during a time of change and pressure on the health system due to COVID.

Premier Scott Moe did not have an answer for the reasoning for Livingstone’s resignation, he did appreciate his efforts as CEO for the SHA. “I would say thank you to Mr. Livingstone, I mentioned a couple of the significant achievements that he achieved throughout his time with the Saskatchewan Health Authority his effort time and guidance and leadership has been appreciated.”

The Premier expressed confidence in the board of directors that will now be in charge of finding the next CEO in Saskatchewan Health Authority.
