December has started off great weather-wise, but some arctic air is about to hit us.

A snowfall warning is out for the southwestern part of the province with Environment Canada saying a low pressure system moving through Montana is expected to bring snow to southwestern Saskatchewan on Saturday. The snow is expected to begin early Saturday morning in the Cypress Hills then spread east and north throughout the day.

By Saturday evening, accumulations near 10 cm are expected from Grasslands National Park west to the Alberta border

It is thought snow from this system will hit the Regina area late Saturday afternoon and be with us for most of the day Sunday but it will be followed by colder weather with a low of minus 25 Sunday and a daytime high of minus 19 on Monday.   The forecast is calling for about seven centimeters of snow, but the southeast corner could see double that by the time the system moves out.

Those going to Winnipeg for the Riders game should know that conditions may not be great on Monday as the system spreads into southern Manitoba.
