Pats drop third in a row to Prince Albert in 5-2 loss.

The Regina Pats could not overcome both an early deficit and solid goaltending last night as they lost their third in a row to the Prince Albert Raiders 5-2.

The Pats outshot Prince Albert 47-30 but could only muster goals from Tanner Howe (8) and Braxton Whitehead (2).

The Raiders scored three goals in the first period and then let goaltender Tikhon Chaika due to the rest, as he made 45 saves, including 15 in the third period.

For Regina, this marks the end of a six-game road trip, in which they went 3-3, seeing their record drop to 9-13. With the win, the Raiders hop Regina in the East Division standings by improving to 9-12-1.

The Pats will return to the Brandt Centre for the first time since November 13, as they host the Swift Current Broncos (8-12-2-1) with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m.
