On Saturday night, the Regina Pats wore some new jerseys when they hosted the Swift Current Broncos.
Those jerseys were designed by 16-year-old Allery Lang, who won the CHL’s Leave Your Mark contest.
Being a lifelong Pats fan, Lang said she thought it would be fun to enter the contest.
“I just saw on Instagram that they were doing this contest. I love being creative and love making art, so I thought it would be cool to bring two of my favourite things, hockey and art, together,” she said. “One night, I just got together all of art craft and sat at the kitchen table and did all the designs.”
Lang explains her design.
“I really love the ombre because I love highlighting the Pats logo. Under the arms, I thought it would be cool to incorporate blue and red. I thought it would look cool and interesting on the ice, the traditional jerseys are usually the stripes.”
She added that seeing players like Connor Bedard dawned the ice jersey was surreal.
