Fieldhouse set to re-open next week

Regina’s Fieldhouse is set to re-open to the public starting next week.

The city says the facility will open its doors on Monday, September 21. Things will be different at the Fieldhouse since users will now have to register for all activities in order to manage capacity, minimize lineups outside of the building and allow room for increased cleaning.

Visitors will also have to follow COVID-19 related procedures such as answering health-related questions posted on the facility’s doors, arriving five minutes early and dressed, sanitizing and washing hands, paying cashless if possible and maintaining a distance of two metres around others while inside the building.

Court rentals will be limited to one hour per day per client and some activities will have limited access. Residents can register beginning Friday, September 18 online or by calling the PlayLine at 306-777-PLAY (7529).

The Fieldhouse has been closed since late March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The city noted in a release on Monday that the closure has allowed them to make improvements to the facility including new LED lighting, new curtains that divide the program areas, an upgraded sound system and restoration to the walking and running track with repainted lines.
