Canadian Western Agribition is reporting attendance reached over 85 thousand people during the week long show ending November 27th.

Attendance is down about 36 thousand people from two years ago but officials had expected lower numbers.

Officials were pleased with the thousands who came to the show despite travel restrictions amid COVID-19 protocols.

More than 100 international guests from 20 countries came to Agribition with hundreds of exhibitors and more than 2 thousand livestock.

The school tours were not held at Agribition but were in a virtual format.

As well, more than 37 hundred people live-streamed Agribition livestock shows and sales.

Agribition’s virtual video content was viewed more than 31 thousand times.

CEO Chris Lane says registrations for the Grain Expo and Indigenous Agriculture Summit were record-setting, merchandise sales were three times higher than normal, and rodeo ticket sales were strong with a sell-out Saturday night.

More than 20 thousand dollars was raised for the Agribition scholarship fund and over 74 thousand dollars for STARS air ambulance.

Financial results will be released at the Agribition annual meeting next April.
