Under 100 active COVID-19 cases in Regina zone as province announces 47 new COVID-19 cases

The province is reporting 47 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and three more deaths to bring the provincial tally to 934.

With 70 recoveries, the active case falls a little further and now stands at 613 with 94 in the Regina zone.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (2), Far North East (4), North West (3), North Central (7), Saskatoon (13), Central West (1), Central East (10), Regina (2), South West (1), and South Central (1) zones and three (3) new cases have pending residence information.  Nearly one-quarter (25.5%) of new cases are in the 40-59 age category.

131 people are in hospital including 31 i the ICU.  Of those 131, 85 are not fully vaccinated.

1,180 vaccines were handed out across Saskatchewan on Monday with 889 of those being first doses.

The news comes as the province announces it is increasing the eligibility list for those who can get a booster shot. Those 50 years old and older, those over 18 in the far north and on First Nations, health care workers, and those born in or before 2009 with underlying health conditions that make them clinically extremely vulnerable including those with diabetes are now eligible if you had your second shot more than five months ago.
