RCMP lay charges against Lake Lenore priest after ‘multiple incidents of a sexual nature’

A 45-year-old Roman Catholic priest of Lake Lenore is facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation.

Humboldt RCMP charged Anthony Tei Atter, the priest responsible for the parishes of St. Gregory, St. Ann and St. Anthony, after receiving a report of multiple incidents of a sexual nature.

It’s alleged the incidents occurred between September 1 and November 4, 2020. Atter is due in Humboldt court March 22, 2021.

No details will be released by RCMP about the victim to protect their identity.
