The Riders go into this Saturday’s game in Calgary with a record of 5-2. In three of the wins this season, Cody Fajardo has put in a performance that has led to him being named one of the top players of the week.
Fajardo’s late heroics Friday in B.C earned him his third honour of the season as he was named of one of the league’s top performers for Week 8 with Montreal running back William Stanback and Toronto defensive back Shaq Richardson also being recognized.
Fajardo completed 24-of-31 passes for 279 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the 31-24 road win over the B.C. Lions. He capped off a six-play, 56 yard drive with a one-yard TD run with two seconds left on the clock that tied the score and set up Brett Lauther for the game-winning convert.
For the season, Fajardo has completed a league-high 154 of 213 passes for 1644 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.
