According to a survey conducted by the website Finder, Canadians are not planning to be home for the holidays.

Finder, a website that uses the information to help guide people towards making a decision that’s right for them, found that one in five Canadian adults (22 per cent) plan to travel over December, January and February.

Canadians are just as likely to be planning domestic travel as they are international travel. Twelve per cent of Canadians plan to travel domestically, and 12 per cent plan to travel internationally.

However, the Omicron variant could stop those plans, with possible travel restrictions once again being discussed.

Canadia is once again increasing testing requirements for international travellers and dropping its travel ban on flights from 10 African countries.

Starting Tuesday, all travellers will once again need to get a COVID-19 molecular test before returning to Canada.

The testing is on top of a warning earlier this week from the government that Canadians should avoid all non-essential travel over the holidays as the variant rages worldwide.
