Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe did not seem confident when speaking about the Liberal government’s speech from the throne on Wednesday at the Saskatchewan legislature.

He said the throne speech possesses “a number of vague promises” that consist of plans they have announced in the past, and in his opinion, does not address any of the concerns that Saskatchewan and the other provinces have put forward.

Moe continued by saying it does not have much substance around supporting any of the industries that create wealth and build communities in the province.

“There was two mentions of Saskatchewan. One was with respect to the contact tracing app and the second was with respect to how they are going to transition the energy sector workers out of the actual energy sector,” explained the premier.

Moe said his main concern he found absent in the throne speech is no support for the energy and agriculture industries. He added that the Trudeau government has committed what is “an assault” on Western Canadian industries.

Overall, it’s not a speech from the throne that he would support.

“We’ll be watching very closely as to who votes to support and who votes not to support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the continuance of his government,” stated Moe.

Following the throne speech, both the Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois confirmed they will not support the Liberals’ plan. The federal NDP has not yet made a decision on whether it can vote to support it.
