Nominations are now open for candidates for rural municipal elections across Saskatchewan.
In most RM’s, the odd-number divisions for councilors and the reeves are up for election.
SARM president Ray Orb says October 7th is the nomination deadline for running for council.
He encourages candidates to come forward.
He is hoping for a good voter turn-out.
Orb says some RM’s will have mail-in ballots due to concerns over the coronavirus.
Orb has put his name forward to run as reeve in the RM of Cupar and will be seeking another term as president of SARM.
The rural municipal election date is set for November 9th, about 2 weeks after the provincial election.
