Wheat prices could jump heading into the winter

A grain market analyst expects wheat prices could jump 30 to 50 cents a bushel later this crop year.

The chief market analyst with FarmLink Marketing Solutions, Neil Townsend, says Canadian wheat exports are up 30 percent this year and demand remains strong.

“I see prices kind of going up now, how much will they go up? probably 30 to 50 cents per bushel, I think will be the range we’re looking at for maximum price under all of the current conditions we see today,” said Townsend.

Townsend says wheat prices will likely show some surge in prices in late winter, in February to April of 2021.
