A vehicle stop on Friday near Herbert resulted in the discovery of a large amount of methamphetamine and cocaine by members of the Saskatchewan RCMP.
RCMP roving traffic unit members stopped an eastbound vehicle at around 6:30 p.m. on October 2 for having tinted windows and tinted taillights. That’s when officers noticed the lone occupant of the vehicle, 35-year-old Andrew Jay Anderson of Regina, was in possession of a pack of unstamped tobacco.
Anderson was arrested by police and a search of his vehicle followed where officers further found half a kilogram of methamphetamine, 18 individual half-gram bags of suspected cocaine, approximately $1,600 in Canadian currency, brass knuckles, a taser and a collapsible baton.

He faces a number of charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was released on a release order and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court on the morning of December 9.
