Saskatchewan continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in Canada.

According to the job numbers released Friday morning by Stats Canada, the province added 8,700 more jobs in September, causing the jobless rate to go down to 6.8 percent.

Federally, the unemployment rate dropped to 9 percent in Canada as the economy added 378,000 jobs.

Stats Canada says this brings the unemployment to within 720,000 jobs of pre-pandemic levels.
