On-demand bus service being expanded in Regina

The On Demand Transit pilot program being used by Regina Transit is expanding.

As of Tuesday, riders will be able to use the service at an additional 167 bus stops around Regina’s north end including the Northgate Mall and Avonhurst Shopping Centre.

The project is aimed at determing if this service is an effective way to transport more people, use less vehicles and reduce wait times while increasing ridership.

The city says results and feedback from customers who have utilized the service since it started August 31 have allowed them to expand.

The project allows for riders to ask to have a bus pick them up and drop them off at a stop of their choice using the On Demand Transit Rider App.
