On Saturday around 1:26 am, Regina Police responded to a weapons call on the 2100 block of Albert Street.
Several witnesses had called police after hearing what they believed to be multiple gunshots. Police arrived and found a 32-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that an altercation had occurred inside a business between the victim and three other people. On leaving the business, the victim walked outside when the three men involved in the altercation exited a vehicle. Two of the victims each had machetes and the third had a gun. The victim tried to run and was immediately shot.
He was transported to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The first suspect was the one with the gun. He is described as African Canadian, short hair with a husky build, wearing a green or brown hoodie.
Suspects 2 and 3 were described as African Canadian, both were carrying a machete. The vehicle the suspects were in is described as a silver sedan.
Police have no information suggesting anyone else was hurt during the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, so more information may be released at a later date.
