RCMP lifts public restrictions at Yorkton detachment

Restrictions have been lifted for non-emergency matters at the Yorkton RCMP detachment as of Tuesday, October 13.

This means regular employment, volunteer criminal record checks and civil fingerprinting service will resume. Front counter services are back between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Visitors to the building wanting to speak to an officer in-person will find a plexiglass barrier at the front desk. Hand sanitizing stations and masks will be available in the detachment’s lobby.

RCMP shared the information in a release on Tuesday morning after a police officer in Yorkton tested positive for COVID-19 on September 28, resulting in 14 additional officers going into self-isolation.

The front office of the detachment was closed to the public for non-emergency matters.
