One more stop for the Regina Pats on their four-game swing in Alberta as they meet the Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
It has been a successful trip for the Regiment over the last week, with the Pats collecting five out of a possible six points after stops in Red Deer, Calgary and Lethbridge.
Connor Bedard’s 35-game point streak came to an end on Friday in Lethbridge. The last time the 17-year old was unable pick up a point was in the season opener against the Moose Jaw Warriors on September 23.
Despite Bedard unable to pick up a point, Regina was able to beat the Hurricanes with Lethbridge product, Zack Stringer scoring the game winning goal. Stringer returned to the Pats lineup on Friday after a four-game absence. Sam Oremba and Alexander Suzdalev also scored for Regina in the win.
Two valuable points are on the on the line today. The Pats begin today with 51 points and the seventh position in the Eastern Conference. Medicine Hat on the strength of a seven-game point streak sit three points back as they hold the ninth position. The Tigers have the chance to leapfrog the Swift Current Broncos today with a win.
Last Sunday, Medicine Hat defeated Regina 6-4 at the Brandt Centre. After today’s game, the two teams will meet in a pair of matchups before the end of the regular season.
