Tornado warning issued for SW corner of Saskatchewan

Those in the southwest part of Saskatchewan should brace themselves for the possibility of extreme severe weather on Canada Day.

Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for the Shaunavon-Maple Creek-Val Marie-Cypress Hills region.  There are also severe thunderstorm warnings out for southwest and west-central Saskatchewan and severe thunderstorm watches out for the central part of the province including Saskatoon, Assiniboia and Kindersley.

As of 3 o’clock on Canada Day, Regina was not under a watch or warning of any kind, but conditions can change.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada has confirmed that the damage caused at Meadow Lake Provincial Park on Saturday was the result of two tornadoes that hit the area.
