Free agency in the Canadian Football League (CFL) officially opens up next week, but it looks like the Saskatchewan Roughriders have begun reshaping their roster.
This week, teams across the league are allowed to speak with players with expiring contracts. Players can’t officially sign contracts with new teams until February 14 but they can agree on terms of a deal.
There are reports the Roughriders are focusing on their aerial attack with a couple of additions from Montreal. TSN’s Farhan Lalji is reporting that the green and white will sign quarterback, Trevor Harris.
It is believed that Trevor Harris will sign with the #Riders when free agency opens on Feb 14. I’m told Sask offered him a 2 year deal. @CFLonTSN pic.twitter.com/LvTPiXRnLA

It appears that Harris won’t be the only Alouette moving to Saskatchewan. 3DownNation’s John Hodge is reporting the Roughriders will sign wide receiver Jake Wieneke.

With free agency not officially beginning until February 14, there is a possibility players and teams could rescind their agreements before that time.
