Regina Thunder will try and maintain momentum against the Calgary Colts

The Regina Thunder (4-1) return to the gridiron on Sunday when they host the Calgary Colts (2-3) at Leibel Field (1:00).

Regina rebounded last week with a 23-11 win in Winnipeg to keep themselves in second place in the Prairie Football Conference.

Thunder QB Carter Moberg joined Sean Kleisinger on the SportsCage earlier this week.

“It’s been fun to get out there and play.”

For the Swift Current product, the 2023 marks the first time he has seen extensive playing time since his Grade 11 season due to COVID and waiting for his turn with the Thunder.

Moberg said there was a lot of excitement in Week 1 when Regina took the field against the Colts in Calgary.

“Work hard to get that opportunity again, it was a great feeling to be out there.”

Following Sunday’s game against the Colts, the Thunder will have a chance at the Saskatoon Hilltops (5-0), who handed Regina their first loss earlier this month.

“That one left a real bad taste in our mouth,” said the Thunder QB.

He added the defence rebounded and dominated in last week’s win in Winnipeg.

The Thunder will travel to Saskatoon on Saturday and meet the Hilltops at SMF Field.
