The Saskatchewan Health Association issuing a public warning today about the possible transmission of Hepatitis A at a Tim Horton’s restaurant in Emerald Park.

The risk of transmission is low says the SHA – but as a precautionary measure anyone who has been through the emerald park Tim Horton’s between January 27th and February 10th should take precautions and monitor for symptoms of Hepatitis.

Hepatitis A is a liver infection caused by a virus that is spread from person to person, and symptoms may include: fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, light stool, tiredness, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, and jaundice.

If you ate at the restaurant or had takeout during the dates listed you should receive a Hepatitis A vaccine, and monitor for symptoms up to 50 days from the point of exposure.
