Pats rally falls short against Raiders in a penalty filled contest

The Regina Pats dropped their second straight contest with a 4-3 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders.

Corbin Vaughan registered his first career WHL goal for Regina, Cole Temple and Tanner Howe also scored.

Former Pat Sloan Stanick scored the game-winning-goal for the Raiders.

Ryder Ritchie, Niall Crocker and Brayden Dube also had goals for Prince Albert.

The Raiders picked up a pair of powerplay goals on nine opportunities while Regina didn’t score on their seven chances.

Pats netminder Ewan Huet made 29 saves.

Assistant Coach Ken Schneider said it was a frustrating game especially with the amount of the penalties in the first period that limited the five on five situations.

“It doesn’t really allow you to get into the game, in terms of getting your bench involved in the game.”

With a quick turnaround for Regina as they head back into action on Saturday night against the Moose Jaw Warriors, Schneider would like to see some adjustments on the powerplay.

“I like to see (Tanner) Howe get the puck a little more often.” said the Pats Assistant Coach. “Your best player, the puck has to get on the stick a little bit more.”
