The city of Regina says that sinkhole which opened up at Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street on Canada Day won’t be repaired until the end of the day on Monday weather permitting.
As a result, the intersection will remain closed throughout the weekend as city crews work on fixing the hole which they estimated would take about three days after it first developed.
The sinkhole formed when a sewer trunk cracked. It is 25 feet deep by 20 feet wide.
