A man who died on Friday afternoon after suffering critical injuries is the latest victim of a homicide, according to the Regina Police Service.
RPS confirmed late Monday afternoon in a media release that 49-year-old Rodney Troy Ruberry’s death is now being investigated as the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
His family has been notified of his death. No suspects have been arrested in connection this event at this time.
Ruberry was found by police in medical distress at around 3:19 p.m. on Jan. 24 on the 4400 block of Dewdney Avenue. He was transported to hospital by EMS, but was pronounced dead at 4:28 p.m. in hospital.

Regina police have now ruled three homicides from incidents that occurred on Friday and Saturday. Police say there is no evidence that these cases are connected in the early stages of these investigations.
“It is unusual to have four homicides in any calendar month, and even more unusual that these homicides have all taken place in the first month of 2020,” said Elizabeth Popowich with RPS in the release.
“Through diligent, collective effort, police have made arrests and laid charges in two of these homicides, which has an immediate positive impact on public safety.”
Police say the investigation is ongoing in conjunction with the coroner’s service.
