Two northern Co-ops buy Paragon Ag Service

Two Saskatchewan Co-ops are expanding service to farm customers with the acquisition of Paragon Ag Service in northeast Saskatchewan.

Lake Country Co-op and Prairie North Co-op have reached an agreement to buy Paragon’s three Saskatchewan retail agriculture sites and two anhydrous ammonia locations.

The will have Prairie Co-op acquire the Melfort and Brooksby purchase will add dry fertilizer and anhydrous ammonia assets to the local Co-op businesses.

Terms y sites and Lake Country acquiring the Kinistino location and an anhydrous ammonia site near Gronlid, north of Highway 335.

Paragon has provided crop protection services and fertilizer for over 20 years in the area.

The transaction is expected to close this month.

Prairie North Co-op has 18 locations and Lake Country co-op serves 19 communities from 60 separate locations.
