CAFTA applauds Federal government effort to ensure rules-based international farm trade

Canadian agri-food exporters welcome the Trudeau government’s effort to keep the World Trade Organization settlement mechanism in operation.

The executive director of the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance, Claire Citeau, says the high court in the WTO ceased to function in December.

Citeau says Canada and 16 nations have an interim agreement on ensuring rules based trade through the World Trade Organization.

Citeau says Canada’s agri-food exporters need rules based trade to ensure fair access to markets.
