Evraz is facing a $230,000 fine, plus a $92,000 surcharge, for a workplace injury in 2018.

The Ontario-based company pleaded guilty to failing to ensure an effective safeguard was in place where a worker may contact a dangerous moving part of a machine resulting in a serious injury.

The charges stem from an incident that happened in Regina in February 2018 where a worker sustained a number of injuries after stepping onto a turn roll motor.
