Kirby Dach, the No. 3 pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday.
The contract has an average annual value of $925,000.
The 18-year-old center had 73 points (25 goals, 48 assists) for Saskatoon of the Western Hockey League last season and helped it clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2013. He had eight points (five goals, three assists) in 10 playoff games.
Dach (6-foot-4, 198 pounds) helped Canada win the gold medal at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he had seven points (two goals, five assists) in five games.
