Four BC residents arrested outside of Swift Current facing human trafficking charges

Swift Current RCMP have arrested and charged four BC residents in relation to a human trafficking incident.

The incident began on Tuesday afternoon when an off-duty RCMP officer spotted three vehicles travelling at a high speed on Highway #1 East towards Swift Current. The vehicles were travelling together at roughly 153 km/h.

All three vehicles were stopped by RCMP. While speaking with the drivers and passengers, officers became suspicious of their relationships, and continued to investigate. Two younger female passengers were located in separate vehicles with no ID, which indicated to RCMP this was a human trafficking related activity. Three men and one woman were arrested and charged.

Seyed Kourosh Miralinaghi and Seyed Kamran Miralinaghi each face five similar charges including receiving financial benefit, knowing it was obtained from the commission of a criminal offence and knowingly advertise an offer to provide sexual services.
