Michael Gordon Jackson, accused of abducting his daughter to stop her from being vaccinated against COVID-19, was released on bail.
At the Court of King’s Bench, Jackson was granted bail following a hearing that saw no arguments against his release presented.
Jackson was charged with one count of abduction in contravention of custody or parenting order in January of 2022 after a Canada-wide warrant was issued to find them.
He was found with his daughter in late February of last year in Veron, B.C.
Jackson’s bail comes with the following conditions:
- Keep the peace and be of good behaviour;
- Appear before the court when required;
- Report to a probation officer within 24 hours of his release, and after that, as told to do so;
- Live at a specified Saskatchewan address and not change that address without permission;
- Have no contact with his daughter’s mother and not attend her place of work, residence or education;
- And have no contact with his daughter, or attend her place of work, residence or education, unless expressly permitted by a court order.
Jackson has previously been denied bail and was in custody on remand before this week’s court decision.
His next court appearance is set for last March.
