The Regina Police Service is investigating the first homicide of 2023.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the Washington Park neighbourhood on February 9 for a report of an injured person.

Information received by officers was that a man was a victim of an apparent overdose.

A further investigation into the man’s death led the RPS to determine it to be a homicide.

The victim was a 36-year-old from Regina.
