Riders agree to terms with DB Godfrey Onyeka

The Saskatchewan Roughriders added some Canadian depth to their secondary with the signing of defensive back Godfrey Onyeka.

Last year, Onyeka was limited by a shoulder injury with Saskatchewan. He was able to play in the final two games of the season as he recorded two tackles and two special teams tackles.

In 2021, he suited up for nine games with the Roughriders including the West Final.

Onyeka was originally selected by Edmonton in the second round of the 2018 CFL Draft.

The Brantford native played collegiately at Wilfred Laurier University. He was a three-time USPORTS First Team All-Canadian, a three-time OUA First Team All-Star and a 2014 OUA All-Rookie. In 2016, he helped the Golden Hawks win the OUA Championship
