Sask. Construction Safety Association, Sask. Polytechnic partnership to focus on industry safety

Safety in the construction industry is a big focus for both the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association and Sask. Polytechnic.

The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Thursday to create a strong foundation for a safe and healthy construction industry.

SCSA President Collin Pullar says this MOU will help students develop not only skills in construction, but also a deep understanding of safety in the industry.

“We have embarked on a few initiatives including training, course contents and other awareness activities,” he shares.

“It brings increasing value to the construction industry in terms of having people well prepared for the job. But it’s also great for the workers so they are prepared, they know how to deal with something safely, reduce industry and frequency of errors.”

Pullar adds that the goal of the memorandum is to help create the safest construction environment in Canada.
