Two Reginans facing 73 charges after many incidents of identity theft over the last year

Over 70 charges have been issued against a 26-year old man and 22-year old woman with most of the charges dealing with identity theft or identity fraud.

Two people were arrested from an apartment on the 800 block of Empress Street after a search warrant resulted on investigators discovering almost 3000 documents belonging to 96 different identities.

It is alleged the suspects would gather information about a potential victim and then forge documents like bank statements, pay stubs, drivers licences and status cards. They would then apply for loans, credit cards and bank accounts using the victim’s identity.

The same suspects were re-arrested July 3 from a hotel room on the 1900 block of Rupert Street where police found a computer, printer/scanner and identification documents as well as items purchased fraudulently using other people’s identities.

Logan Cardinal and Kassa McManus, both from Regina, made court appearances on the matter earlier this week.
