The Pats visit Prince Albert as they look to put some space in the playoff race

A busy stretch of the season begins tonight in Prince Albert for the Regina Pats.

Over the next nine days, the Regiment will be in action six times. The Pats are coming off a 8-4 win against Moose Jaw on Saturday at the Brandt Centre.

The Pats have kept themselves busy off the ice this week, on Monday they partnered up with Western Pizza for the 25th Have a Heart Night to help the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

It’s currently a logjam for the final three spots in the Eastern Conference. Regina, Swift Current and Calgary all have 53 points. Medicine Hat is one point outside of the playoff picture. Tonight will be an opportunity for the Pats to put some distance between their competition as they are the only team in the group that’s in action on Friday. All four teams are on the ice on Saturday night.

There is a possibility Connor Bedard reaches the 100-point mark against the Raiders. Heading into tonight’s contest, the Pats captain is four points out ( 48G-48A).

Alexander Suzdalev is the Western Hockey League’s leading rookie scorer, with 28 goals 38 points (66 points).

Prince Albert begins tonight contest in 11th spot in the Eastern Conference with a 20-28-3-0.

Tonight will be the second last time the two teams will meet this season. They will face off in the final game of the year at the Brandt Centre on March 25.

Coverage from the sold out Art Hauser Centre this evening on 620 CKRM begins with the pre-game show at 6:35, Dante De Caria will have the play-by-play beginning at 7:00.
