Less than 24 hours after being released from the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Charleston Hughes has signed with the Toronto Argonauts.

Hughes was on the SportsCage Wednesday afternoon and told Derek Taylor he and the Riders were about $15,000 apart on reaching a new deal.
Riders V.P of Football Operations Jeremy O’Day said in a news release on Wednesday that negotiations went on for weeks, adding they were disappointed a deal could not come to fruition.
In 2020 Hughes was supposed to be paid just over $157,000, he received only $10,000 once the season was cancelled.
