Pats end three-game slide with 6-0 win over Hitman

A five-goal second period saw the Regina Pats end their three-game losing streak with a 6-0 victory over the Calgary Hitman on Family Day.

Ewan Huet made 38 saves for his first career shutout, with 17 of those 38 stops coming in the third period, helping the Pats break their skid.

Tanner Howe led the way up front with a season-high four points (1G-3A), while Tye Spencer reached the 20-goal mark with two goals.

Zach Moore opened the scoring early in the first, while Jaxsin Vaughan and Logan Peskett rounded out the scoring, and Braxton Whitehead chipped in with two assists.

The Pats sweep the season set over the Hitmen, going 4-0 against Calgary this season.

The Pats are now five points back of the eighth and final playoff spot with 12 games left in the season.

Looking ahead, Regina will begin a seven-game road trip, with six through the U.S. Division, which begins Friday in Spokane.
