Number 1’s at 1 for July 15th

Colin Lovequist will be basking in the prairie sun for the next couple of weeks which means I’ll be guest hosting Number 1’s at 1 periodically over the next two weeks! We have another solid show on the way today.

One year ago today “I was Jack (You Were Diane)” by Jake Owen held the top spot for two weeks on the chart.

Eddy Raven landed his fifth number one on this day in 1989 when “In a Letter to You” reached the top and stayed there for one week.

Speaking of 1989, Reba McEntire’s album “Sweet 16” was number one. In fact, it was the number 1 album from June 24th to September 16th on the Billboard Country Albums chart. It featured her hits “Cathy’s Clown” and “Walk On.”

We’ll feature a few artists celebrating birthdays today including Hal Willis and Linda Ronstadt. We’re also going to head back to 1994 when the “Country Heat 4” album was number 1 in Canada this week 25 years ago. There were 15 tracks on that album including “If I’m Ever Over You” by Michelle Wright!

We’ll have these hits, and several more, today on Number 1’s at 1.
