Environment and Climate change Canada has upgraded the winter storm watch for Southern Saskatchewan to a winter storm warning.
They say a winter storm with heavy snowfall (25-35 cm) and gusty winds up to 70 km/h will be hitting the province from Saturday to Monday night.
Blowing snow will reduce visibility, making travel hazardous.
Stay informed about highway conditions through the Highway Hotline and, if possible, avoid travel in the affected areas.
Police in several communities are already advising people to stay home if possible during what is expected to be hazardous conditions.
