The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added a new quarterback to the fold.
The team announced it has signed American Jack Coan. If the name sounds familiar, its probably because of the records he set in the 2022 edition of the “Fiesta Bowl”. Coan, playing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish set records for passing yards (509) and passing touchdowns (5). Or, you may know him from a viral video that lit up the internet. The video shows Coan throwing a game winning touchdown pass in 2021, moments after having a dislocated finger popped back into place.
The 6’3 220 pound signal caller from New York was an undrafted free agent on the Indianapolis Colts roster in 2022, before signing with the XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas. In eight games with the Brahmas, Coan passed for six touchdowns and over 14 hundred yards.
Following the 2023 season, he had tryouts with the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.
