The Saskatchewan Roughriders released running back Marcus Thigpen on Wednesday just days before he was to become a free agent,

The 33-year-old spent three seasons with the Green and White, accumulating 601 rushing yards and eight touchdowns to go along with 425 yards and three majors on 45 receptions.

He suited up in all 18 games for Saskatchewan in 2019, picking up 201 yards and three touchdowns on the ground and 161 yards and another score through the air.
