Pats finish home schedule with 3-2 loss to Wheat Kings

The Regina Pats wrapped up their home schedule on Friday night with a 3-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings.

The game was scoreless until midway through the second period when Brandon’s Nolan Flamand opened the scoring. The Wheat Kings lead would last long as Sam Oremba would tie the contest at one going into the third.

In the final stanza, Oremba scored his second in the game to give the Pats a 2-1 lead; however, Brandon answered back just 15 seconds later to tie the game back up.

Utilimaly it would a Tyson Buczkowski tripping penalty that would spell the end for the Pats, as the Wheat Kings would score to give them the lead and the eventually game-winning goal.

Oremba picked up his fifth multi-goal game of the season, while Ewan Huet got the start, allowing three goals on 28 shots.

For Brandon, Ethan Eskit was the difference, stopping countless Pats grade-A chances as he finished the night with 30 saves for his ninth victory of the season.
