A fatal collision involving a train and a semi has led to an investigation involving the Estevan RCMP.

On Monday afternoon just after 12:00 pm, RCMP responded to a report of a collision at an uncontrolled railway crossing near the community of Hitchcock involving a train and a semi.

A 42 year old man from Carnduff, the driver of the semi, was transported to hospital where he later passed away.

There were no reported injuries involving the train personnel.

Estevan RCMP were joined by a Sask. RCMP traffic reconstructionist for the initial portion of the investigation.
