Saskatchewan adds a pair of medals on Saturday at Canada Winter Games

 

More medals were added to Saskatchewan’s collection on Saturday at the Canada Winter Games in P.E.I.

In men’s hockey, Team Saskatchewan had to settle for a silver medal after they were defeated by Team Ontario in double overtime 3-2.

Saskatchewan opened up a 2-0 lead, but Ontario scored a pair of goals to tie the game in the third period.

The Ontario game-winning goal came at 3:52 of double overtime by Matthew Schaefer.

Earlier in the day, Saskatchewan earned a bronze medal in ringette with a 5-4 overtime win against P.E.I.

Rylie Bryden scored the overtime winner for Saskatchewan.

After Saturday’s action, Saskatchewan now has three gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals at the Canada Winter Games.
